Dr. Wayne A. Svoboda, DVM, MS
Dr. Svoboda grew up in the small town of Wahoo, Nebraska. His background in the medical/science field and great love of animals influenced his decision to pursue a career as a veterinarian. He earned his B.S. degree in Microbiology from Kansas State University. He received his M.S. in Cellular Biology in 1982 from the Purdue University. He received his D.V.M. in 1986 from Kansas State University, College of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Svoboda joined NVA in 2005. He enjoys both small animal and exotic pets medicine and surgery and has a special interest in Police K-9 medicine. Dr. Svoboda provides veterinary medical care for approximately ten different valley law enforcement K-9 units, and routinely conducts K-9 first aid seminars for police officers and EMT/first response individuals. When not working, Dr. Svoboda enjoys out door activities, photography, cycling, long distance running, and spending time with the family.

Dr. Tracey K. Ritzman, DVM, Diplomate ABVP-Avian, Specialist in Avian
Dr. Ritzman graduated from North carolina State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1995. Since graduation the focus of her veterinary work has been with avian, reptile and exotic companion mammal patients as well as dogs and cats. She is one of only three board certified avian veterinarians in the state of Arizona. Board certification with the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners is a demanding process that requires many years of experience, training and a rigorous board exam. Dr. Ritzman is an active speaker at many national and local veterinary conferences. Her clinical interests include avian, reptile and exotic small mammal medicine and surgery, endoscopy and pet nutrition. Dr. Ritzman and her husband live in Peoria.
